Global Elites Provider

IELTS is a test developed by the world’s leading experts in language assessment on four key English language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. It is designed to assess the language ability of people who aim to study, work, immigrate and in an English-speaking environment. Accredited by Languages Canada, GEA offers supreme IELTS training both online and in-class.

What is IELTS?

The International English language testing system (IELTS) is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test for higher education and global migration, with over 2.9 million tests taken in 2016.

IELTS assesses all of your English skills—reading, writing, listening and speaking, and is designed to reflect how you will use English at study, at work, and at play, in your new life abroad.

The IELTS test is developed by some of the world’s leading experts in language assessment. IELTS conforms to the highest international standards of language assessment, and is accepted worldwide, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the USA by over 10,000 organizations. It is recognised by schools, universities, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies.

IELTS is the most widely accepted English language test that uses a one-on-one speaking test to assess your English communication skills. This means that you are assessed by having a real-life conversation with a real person. This is the most effective and natural way of testing your English conversation skills.

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is an internationally recognized language test designed to assess the language ability of test takers who need to study or work where English is the language of communication.

Test Format

Test takers are tested in listening, reading, writing and speaking. All test takers take the same Listening and Speaking modules. There is a choice between Academic and General Training in the Reading and Writing modules.

The tests are designed to cover the full range of ability from non-user to expert user.

Listening, Reading and Writing modules are completed in the morning. The Listening module commences at 9:30 a.m. and is followed by the Reading and Writing modules. These three sections last for a total of three hours. There is no break during this time. The Speaking section is usually held in the afternoon of the test day between 1:20 and 5:20 p.m., however speaking tests may be scheduled later. Every test taker spends 11–14 minutes in the speaking interview. All speaking interviews are usually completed by 6:00 p.m., however this cannot be guaranteed. Speaking times are randomly assigned and cannot be changed. The interview time will be provided in the morning during registration. Please note that while every effort will be made to ensure that test takers have a speaking time that is most convenient for them, the test centre cannot guarantee their preferred time.
